Bombshell Apparel is a design studio located in Ladysmith on Vancouver Island.  Their services include highly skilled graphic design for both print and web and a unique line of silk screen printed tees.

Our web development team set them up with a simple website to get them started. Keeping costs low, we integrated a PayPal hosted shopping cart which has no monthly fees and no startup cost.  The features of the website include:

In a nutshell, the 10-digit phone number is referenced using the first 6 digits as a match parameter against a database of 165,000 records.  Each record is matched to a carrier using the area code and phone number prefix (604-521-####) and is flagged if it is from a wireless network.

Each phone number is updated with City, State, Carrier, and Wireless Flag.

A second lookup is performed against the carrier to ensure the most accurate SMS Gateway is used.  Considerable amount of work went into researching each old and new carriers’ of the blocks of cellphone numbers throughout the United States.

• Enables you to send SMS text messages to batches of cell phone numbers.
• The System coverts a phone number to a SMS email addresses in a batch process.
• During the batch non-wireless phone numbers are rejected.
• All matched carriers are updated with the most current SMS email gateway.

Out of 30,286 unique records entered into the system, 18,126 appeared to be matchable cellphones (There really are 277 more but I am too lazy to research and update the small carriers), and the breakdown of the wireless providers throughout the united states is as follows.  This also provide a clear picture of who dominate the US cellphone market.

Developed to automate the management of an online distribution system and designed for the usability of the end-user, the periodical distribution system adds instant value by seamlessly integrating into an already successful business model.  PDFs are securely hosted on a remote server to be offered for sale through the website as soon as they are uploaded.  When a single edition is purchased, an email is sent to the buyer containing an encrypted link which allows instant access to the PDF.  Order information is uploaded to the database and payments are facilitated using a secure payment gateway and PayPal Direct Payment Pro.

Subscriptions to their local business newspapers are offered on a yearly bases.  Everything is handled by the system, from keeping track of subscription length, sending notifications of renewal, and distributing links to the periodicals, all managed using a custom built administrative console specially designed to minimize administration and repetition.  Even the news paper thumbnails are automatically generated by a script which captures the first page of the PDF and converts it to a JPG.
